Today, Day Six, Quarters

We’re down to eight players in each draw, with quarter-finals split over two days, tonight at the Pyramids it’s the top half of the draws.

Coll joins Egyptian trio in top half semi-finals

Contrasting women’s semi-finals saw top seed Raneem El Welily go through to the final after the early retirement of Nour El Tayeb, while Nouran Gohar survived a real battle with Sarah-Jane Perry.

Men’s top seed Ali  Farag came from a game down to beat Daryl Selby, and Paul Coll denied an Egyptian full house as he beat Fares Dessouky in five.
